I grew up camping and exploring forests, there is nothing quite like breathing in the deep pine and earth scent, standing among the powerful trees, and just being still. While I moved to an amazing location within the incredible San Juan Mountains, I rarely get to go. When our die-hard camping friends asked us to join them on one of their adventures, I was ecstatic! Of course they took us about an hour and a half away to a pristine location with minimal people, which is a nice change from our local areas. It might be the end of summer, but I finally got to ground myself in Earth and give myself those moments of peace and clarity that really only come from being one with nature. Zen mama. I think I passed along my love of nature to my children, who had no problems finding the nearest mud puddle and having an epic mud ball fight.
